The main objectives of the postgraduate programme in “Educational Sciences” are the following:
- To research in various thematic areas of educational studies and pedagogies with special emphasis on the fields of organization, administration, evaluation and curriculum in education, as well as in the cognitive fields of special education and educational technologies.
- To provide specialized pedagogical knowledge to educators of all levels.
- To cooperate with similar postgraduate programs and various research centers in other European universities.
- To prepare high-ranking executives and researchers, who understand the context in which education operates and wish to act creatively and productively in their own workplace.
- To investigate issues of social justice, interculturalism, citizenship, peace and human rights in education
- To understand the theories on special education, especially in relation to various disabilities, the legal framework, as well as the theoretical background of differentiation. At the same time, the mission of the postgraduate program is to provide the necessary theoretical knowledge for the differentiation and integration of children with special needs, both in terms of the teaching process and the course material, so that all children are supported.
- To examine issues related to the utilization of traditional and contemporary educational technologies and the systematic approach to the processes of design, creation, use, evaluation and management of various teaching aids and learning materials.

The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), through its participation in the European project "Liaison Offices with the Labour Market", offers to students of all its programmes of study, the optional and free of charge Thematic Unit (i.e. Module) entitled "Industry Placement". This module provides students opportunities for a placement to gain professional experience in their particular field of study, and the hosting institution can be any public or private organisation operating in the Republic of Cyprus.
Each student has the right to participate in this offering once or twice during his / her studies, provided that s/he meets the required conditions.

Candidates for the Postgraduate Programme in “Educational Sciences” must hold the following:
- Degree from a recognized Higher Education Institution
Applicants expected to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree until enrolment in the Open University of Cyprus, or have fulfilled their degree requirements, but the issuing of their Degree is pending, are still entitled to apply for admission.
2. "Very good" command of the English language since in all Thematic Units (Modules) a wide range of literature is in the English language (academic articles and books).
3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
The total cost of the fees for this postgraduate programme is 3,300 Euro.
The cost of the course "ΕΠΑ690: Special Education – Practical Training" is €990 and is added to the above total tuition fees, only in the case that the "Special Education – with Practical Training" academic direction is selected.
In terms of granting tuition discounts and/or scholarships, the related University applicable policies are followed.
