Chemical Engineering and Engineering Sustainability Lab

The Laboratory combines new scientific areas of Sustainable Development, Environmental Management and Engineering as well as Chemical Engineering.

Its main research areas are the following:

• Cities Metabolism, Smart Cities, Strategic Development Plans, Sustainable DevelopmentProgrammes, Circular Economy and Industrial Co-habitation Strategy.
• Waste Prevention practices and development of sustainability indicators (economic, social, environmental) and implementation of environmental management systems in various sectors.
• Environmental Impact Studies and Environmental Analysis / Risk Assessment / Multi-criteriaand Life Cycle Analysis Models.
• Development of techniques - technologies for the treatment of solid and liquid waste, biosystems, hazardous waste, composting, etc.
