The MSc programme ‘Computer and Network Security’ aims to give students a general understanding of areas related to computer - network security and cybersecurity. The programme covers areas related to computer/communication networks, cybersecurity, computer and network security, penetration testing, computer and network forensics, cryptography, security risk management of information and communication systems. The Programme also offers the specialised knowledge required, including theory, technologies, and techniques/tools for designing and testing secure computer/communication networks.
Students will have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained from the programme modules, not only through their final year Master thesis, but also through specialised computer - network and cybersecurity laboratory modules. It has to be noted that physical presence of the students is not required during the laboratory modules. The laboratory modules are carried out by the students remotely through their personal computers / smart devices.
As part of the Programme, students will be also taught generic and domain-specific research techniques and will be able to develop these techniques and the specific skills required for successfully completing their final year MSc thesis project.

The MSc Programme in Computer and Network Security is open to individuals of any background. Typically people may hold management, technical or other positionin IT, Telecommunication companies, government departments, consultancy agencies and educational establishments. The Programme would also be of interest to people looking for a career change.
Typically, graduates of Computer and Network Security can be employed by technology and IT companies, mobile operators, computer/networking equipment vendors, consultancy agencies and government departments.
The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), through its participation in the European project "Liaison Offices with the Labour Market", offers to students of all its programmes of study, the optional and free of charge Thematic Unit (i.e. Module) entitled "Industry Placement". This module provides students opportunities for a placement to gain professional experience in their particular field of study, and the hosting institution can be any public or private organisation operating in the Republic of Cyprus.
Each student has the right to participate in this offering once or twice during his / her studies, provided that s/he meets the required conditions.

- The minimum requirement for admission to a postgraduate programme is an undergraduate degree from an accredited Higher Education Institution.
- Good computer skills.
- Good command of the English language to be able to study scientific bibliography in English (books, articles, reports, and scientific papers). Note that bibliography in Greek is also utilized.
The total cost of the fees for this postgraduate programme is €5,800.
The tuition fees for each module are €725. The tuition fees for the Master Thesis are also €1,450.

* A full-time student can be enrolled in Module ΑΥΔ701Α if he/she has completed 60 ECTS.
* A part time student can be enrolled in Module ΑΥΔ701Α if the following two conditions apply:
- He/she has completed at least 40 ECTS, i.e. he/she has successfully completed at least 4 modules, one of which is ΣΑΕ521
- The remaining co-required modules must be of the same semester
Each student can optionally enrol, once or twice, in the free of charge Thematic Module "Industry Placement", which awards five (5) ECTS. The module offers a structured placement, designed to offer students specific industry and professional experience in their particular field of study, and to allow them to build their skills in a real-world setting.
