Euro-Asian Tourism Studies Association (EATSA) is looking to build bridges between Europe and Asia, integrating parts of the global processes that shape the world and contribute to the cultural convergence in the two continents. In the online event on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 20:00 EET, entitled: “Bridging Continents: Fostering Collaboration for Excellence, Harmony, and Peace in Tourism Research – A Journey with EATSA”, the Chairwoman of EATSA, Associate Professor Kevser Çinar, will discuss the scope and mission of EATSA focusing on the significance of cross- cultural understanding in the field of tourism and hospitality and how this Association can contribute to this great imperative. The rich cultural diversity of Europe and Asia is waiting to be explored and appreciated, building cultural bridges among hosts and guests. The role of EATSA as a facilitator in academic cooperation will be highlighted, also in terms of international projects and collaboration among academic and multilevel actors, examining also future trends under the climate change and sustainability perspective. Finally the audience will be engaged through an open forum for questions.
Associate Professor Kevser Çinar, currently serving as President of EATSA, has a research pedigree in tourism with 17 years of dedicated commitment to academia and international cooperation. A Ph.D. holder in Tourism Management from Necmettin Erbakan University, at which she is currently an Associate Professor, and a Bachelor holder from Middle East Technical University, she is serving on the Editorial Board of TÜBA, Education Research Review, Turkish Academy of Sciences. Certified in curriculum development by the Institute of Educational Sciences, her research pursuits predominantly focus on innovative practices in tourism, consumer behavior, cultural heritage, and entrepreneurship, with over 50 published works comprising peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and she also serves on the Editorial Board of TÜBA Higher Education Research/Review (TÜBA-HER), adding her expertise to the academic discourse and shaping the scholarly landscape in higher education.
