The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), a European public university specialised in open and distance education, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bar-Ilan University (BIU), Israel's second-largest academic comprehensive institution, ranked among the top 2% best universities in the world according to the World Ranking. The MoU was signed on June 20, 2023 by Professor Petros Pashiardis, OUC Rector, and Professor Moshe Lewenstein, BIU Vice President, during a visit to BIU by the OUC’s Rector in the context of the Erasmus+ Program.
The MoU serves as an agreement to widen and deepen educational and research cooperation between the two Universities. Moreover, it serves as the basis to facilitate the mobility of students and staff between the two collaborating universities, and to design and offer joint programs, host and/or organizing workshops, conferences and other scientific or cultural events.
Talking about the new collaboration, Professor Pashiardis notes that: “This MoU is an important milestone for the internationalization efforts of the Open University of Cyprus. I am confident that both Universities, students and faculty members will benefit from this collaboration”.
