As part of the Darwin Plus Fellowship "Enhance the knowledge of pollinators (butterflies and moths) in the Sovereign Base Area of Akrotiri through citizen science schemes" and in cooperation with the European project SPRING "Strengthening Pollinator Recovery through INdicators and monitorinG", we cordially invite you to the workshop "Developing butterfly and moth monitoring in Cyprus as an element of an EU Pollinator Monitoring Scheme".
The workshop will take place at the Cyprus Institute (NTL Events Room, 1st floor) on June 10th, 2022, in Nicosia, and it will be repeated at the Akrotiri Environmental Education Centre, on June 11th, 2022, in Limassol.

The workshop aims to promote the available butterfly and moth monitoring tools that are implemented in Europe, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of citizen science for the protection and conservation of the butterflies and moths of Cyprus.
The Darwin Plus Fellowship will be implemented within the next two years (01/01/2022-31/12/2023) through the joint collaboration of the UK Centre of Ecology and Hydrology, the Joint Services Health Unit of the British Bases, and the Open University of Cyprus (OUC). The main aim of the fellowship is to develop citizen science monitoring schemes for pollinators (Lepidoptera) and study the impacts of climate, land-use change, and invasive non-native species on biodiversity.
