Aiming to foster and develop further the prospects for research and educational cooperation on Environmental Conservation and Management issues, the Open University of Cyprus and the Game and Fauna Service of the Ministry of Interior, signed a Μemorandum of Understanding (MoU). The memorandum was signed on April 2021 on behalf of the OUC by the Rector of the University, Professor Petros Pashiardis, and for the Game and Fauna Service by its Director, Mr Pantelis Hatzigerou.

The strategic cooperation of the two public Institutions focuses on actions of common interest with mutual benefit, such as, the design and offering of educational programmes on environmental protection & management, the collaboration in research projects and activities, and the exchange of expertise and know-how in environmental conservation issues. Moreover, in the context of the MoU, OUC students and graduates, especially of the Postgraduate Programme “Environmental Conservation and Management”, will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills through internships at the Game and Fauna Service.
