Erasmus+ Incoming Staff Mobility for Training
The action supports students and staff (teaching, research and administrative) of partner universities that wish to visit Open University of Cyprus for training and additionally, to enhance networking with OUC community.

People with disabilities:
People with disabilities include people whose physical or health status makes it difficult to participate in an Erasmus+ mobility activity without additional support. European Commission and Open University of Cyprus encourage the participation of staff with disabilities in all activities of the Erasmus+ programme. Incoming staff for training should check with their home university for the provision of additional funding.
Universities operating in a country that participates in the Erasmus+ programme. A valid Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement between OUC and the partner university is not mandatory for training mobility activities.
It is preferable to inform the OUC Mobility Office of a staff’s intention to visit OUC at least two months prior to the start of their mobility.

- Prepare a draft Training Programme mentioning the administrative units or research labs they wish to visit for training at OUC accompanying with a letter explaining their interest to receive training at OUC and submit both to the OUC Mobility Office at

- After receiving the required approvals and obtaining an Erasmus+ grant from their home university, they should inform the OUC Mobility Office accordingly to obtain the final approval of the mobility activity and arrange details (arrival and departure dates, meetings, and expected outcomes).
The OUC Mobility Office also organises each year an Erasmus+ International Staff Week. The five-day programme usually includes plenary sessions, round tables, workshops, presentations, and social events. The main objective of the International Staff Week is to bring together staff from partner and non-partner universities, to exchange know-how and expertise, as well as to allow invited staff to gain insights into the working procedures of the Open University of Cyprus, and to exchange experiences and good practices. Upon completion of the mobility for training, Open University of Cyprus provides staff with a Certificate of Training that needs to be submitted at their home University.
The minimum period of staff mobility for training is five (5) days minimum (travelling days are excluded) to two (2) months. The home university decides upon the exact mobility duration period.
When traveling to Cyprus, it is important to note that the official entry points are the airports of Larnaca (LCA) and Paphos (PFO), as well as the ports of Larnaca, Limassol, Latsi, and Paphos. Entry through any airport or port not under the control of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, such as Ercan Airport in the Turkish-occupied areas of Nicosia, is illegal.

From Larnaca and Paphos airports, you can reach Nicosia – home of the Open University of Cyprus – by taxi, public transport (local and Intercity buses), or the Kapnos Airport Shuttle. Additional details about the Kapnos Airport Shuttle can be found on their official website.
Cyprus has a well-developed public transport network, facilitating travel within and between cities. Information on routes and timetables is available on the Cyprus Public Transport website (URL). Intercity buses connect all major cities (Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, as well as Ayia Napa), and their schedules and fares can also be accessed online.
For navigation, there are helpful apps available for both Android and iPhone.
The Open University of Cyprus is accessible by bus no. 3 from the city center (Solomou Square). Please note that public transport in Cyprus only accepts cash.
Car rental is another option for getting around the island, but remember that traffic in Cyprus drives on the left side of the road, as in the U.K.
